The thinking behind the play
TumTum is inspired by Montessori principles: respect for the child's pace, freedom to explore and an adult who supports curiosity.
You prepare the selection of toys. Your child chooses what to explore, with no fixed route through the playroom.
Filling, emptying, stacking, trying again. A familiar action can be interesting all over again, without a reward or a new level.
Recognizable objects, tactile paper artwork and gentle sounds give each little world its character. Touches and movements invite children to notice what happens.
Montessori education combines hands-on experiences, a carefully prepared environment and the attentive support of a trained adult. Choice, observation and time to repeat are part of that approach.
TumTum brings some of those principles to digital play. It is not a certified Montessori curriculum or a replacement for real materials, movement and relationships. Sit nearby, notice what interests your child and offer help when it is needed.
Familiar discoveries. New words.
Choose a play language and explore familiar objects, animals and everyday scenes together. Hearing their names offers a playful way to encounter words in another language.
Change the family's play language in settings. Text and narration in the Home and games follow your choice.
Use narration at a comfortable volume. Let your child revisit a favorite animal or object and listen again, without asking them to repeat on demand.
After playing, look for a familiar fruit, color or animal in a book or around the house. Share the word again if your child is interested.
Settings, setup and the toy list stay in the device language. TumTum offers contact with words and sounds; it is not a structured language course or a promise of fluency.
Their curiosity. Your care.
Choose what is available, adjust the sound and decide when it is time for a pause. The grown-up controls stay together in settings.
Create profiles and switch by holding the child's name in the Home. Toys are initially selected by age; you can also include toys from other age groups. When the age range changes, TumTum suggests reviewing the selection.
Choose which games each child sees. If you select more than 15, the Home rotates up to 15 different blocks each time the app opens. The full toy list remains available, including age filters.
Adjust narration and sound effects separately, or mute either one. Effects start at a lower volume so the spoken words have room to be heard.
Turn the Home blocks' shake and tilt responses on or off. You can also adjust the difficulty of the Flashlight search in settings.
Menu buttons use a press and hold to reduce accidental screen changes. Inside the toys, ordinary taps and drags keep the play simple.
Find the play guide, privacy policy, terms and contact option in settings. Opening an external link or email from the app requires a separate adult check.
